(SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Sabres attempt to snap a five-game losing streak on the road Monday evening as they visit the Ottawa Senators and Canadian Tire Centre. The Sabres have not won away from Western New York since Nov. 29 at Montreal, going 0-4-1 as the guest this month. Three of those road setbacks came during a four-game overall losing streak that Buffalo halted with a 4-3 shootout win over the New York Islanders on Saturday. A fifth loss in a row seemed like the outcome when the Sabres fell behind 3-0 late in the second period, but Nicolas Deslauriers, Zemgus Girgensons (short- handed) and Chris Stewart all scored 5:12 apart in the third period to tie the game. Stewarts tally evened the score with 8:09 left in regulation and Tyler Ennis came through with the only goal of the shootout. What a gutsy win, said Sabres forward Drew Stafford, who had two assists. Josh Gorges also had two assists for the Sabres Jhonas Enroth made 33 saves, including 17 after the second period, and improved to 5-0 in shootouts this season. One of those victories in the tiebreaker came at home on Dec. 15 versus the Senators, a 5-4 decision. Matt Moulson had the lone shootout tally and Enroth posted 29 saves, improving to 4-2-1 in his career versus the Sens with a 2.77 goals against average and .917 save percentage. That victory came in the first of four meetings this season, but Buffalo has lost four straight in Ottawa. With defenseman Tyler Myers still out with a lower-body injury and fellow blueliner Rasmus Ristolainen not practicing on Sunday due to flu-like symptoms, defenseman Mark Pysyk was recalled from the minors. He could find himself in the lineup tonight, though Tyson Strachan could also be ready to return from a lower-body injury that has held the defender out of the last four games. The Senators enter this matchup having lost three in a row while going 3-4-1 since Dave Cameron replaced a fired Paul MacLean as head coach on Dec. 8. They did earn a point last time out, falling to the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. Mike Hoffman and Clarke MacArthur had the goals for the Senators, but the Red Wings got the winner from Gustav Nyquist with 48 seconds to play in the extra frame. The Detroit forward held the puck for 28 seconds while skating around and holding off the Ottawa defense before scoring on a shot from the left circle. Craig Anderson made 24 saves in the loss. Ottawa has been held to four goals over its losing streak after netting a total of eight in back-to-back wins over New Jersey and Anaheim on Dec. 17 and 19.
