ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Logan Morrison hit a go-ahead RBI double during Seattles two-run 12th inning, and the Mariners hung on to beat the Los Angeles Angels 3-2 on Saturday night. The AL West rivals played extra innings for the second straight night, less than 24 hours after the Angels won the series opener 3-2 in 16 innings. Los Angeles remained 1 1-2 games behind AL West-leading Oakland. Joe Thatcher (0-1) gave up a leadoff double in the 12th to Kyle Seager before Morrison drove him in with a hit down the left field line. Pinch-hitter Justin Smoak drove in pinch-runner Willie Bloomquist with an infield hit. Dominic Leone (3-2) pitched one-plus inning for the victory after taking the loss Friday. Leone was pulled after he gave up a leadoff homer to David Freese. Charlie Furbush got three outs for his first save in four major league seasons. Howie Kendrick legged out a leadoff double in the Angels ninth after his line drive ticked off the glove of shortstop Brad Miller and into short left field. But Brandon Maurer struck out Freese and retired Efren Navarro on a popup before Chris Iannetta struck out for the fourth straight time. Five-time All-Star Felix Hernandez yielded an unearned run and just two hits in seven innings with nine strikeouts and four walks. This was the 12th consecutive start in which the 2010 AL Cy Young Award winner threw at least seven innings and allowed two runs or fewer. The Angels only hit against Hernandez through the first six innings was a leadoff double to left-centre in the fourth by All-Star MVP Mike Trout. The right-hander, who started for the AL in the All-Star game, took a 1-0 lead into the seventh and walked Albert Pujols and Josh Hamilton with none out before giving up the tying run. Miller made a diving stop of Kendricks single behind second base and threw wildly past first base, allowing Pujols to score. Hernandez minimized the damage by fanning Iannetta with runners at second and third. Iannetta is 2 for 20 lifetime against Hernandez. Well, the Bruins are beating just about everyone lately. Torey Krug scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and the Bruins won their season-high fifth straight with a 5-2 victory over the Panthers on Sunday. Chad Johnson made 20 saves, and Chris Kelly, Jarome Iginla, Patrice Bergeron and Andrej Meszaros also scored for Boston. Bergeron also had two assists for the Bruins, who are 7-0-3 during a 10-game stretch on the road, their longest such point streak since 2010-11. The Bruins have taken 14 of 16 from the Panthers, including eight straight by a combined 33-10 score. Boston is now in first place in the Eastern Conference. "Weve worked hard to get ourselves back at the top of the conference," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "By the looks of it, itll probably be a battle right until the end." Jimmy Hayes scored both goals for Florida, and Roberto Luongo stopped 37 shots. The Bruins broke a 1-1 tie on Krugs goal with 12:22 left the third. Krug took a pass from Brad Marchand in the slot and backhanded it past Luongo. "It seemed like their guys were a little bit tired and I thought I could jump up and beat a couple of guys," Krug said. "March made an unbelievable play and I was lucky enough to put it in." Three goals were scored in a span of 52 seconds later in the third, two by Boston.
